John Dickinson Plantation and Museum
About the Project
As the appointed senior graphic designer for the new construction of a Welcomes Center and museum at the John Dickinson Plantation, I focused on creating visual materials and displays to convey the stories of Native American Indians and enslaved individuals who resided and worked on the plantation. I had the incredible opportunity to craft compelling visual narratives that celebrated the experiences and invaluable contributions of individuals, ensuring that their stories were accurately depicted and honored within the rich historical tapestry of the plantation.
The project is profoundly inspiring and significant, allowing me to play a part in safeguarding and presenting a crucial chapter of our collective history for future generations. From the enslaved individuals who lived and worked on the plantation to the Lenape Native Americans who had their lands taken, each part of the museum graphically portrays and elevates their history and stories.
